Help Us Transport Hundreds of Cats Thousands of Miles
Imagine driving 2,700 miles with 50 cats!
The Purrfect Match volunteers travel from Memphis, Tennessee to rescue partners in Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island to personally deliver the cats they rehabilitate. Each cat is fully-vetted and socialized, and transported thousands of miles several times per year to reach their forever homes.
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Lao Tzu
In southern states like Tennessee, cat over-population is an epidemic. Purrfect Match saves these cats from euthanasia, cruelty, or abandonment by relocating the cats out of the state where they are welcomed with open arms.
Since 2015, Purrfect Match Cat Rescue has transported over 4,500 cats to New England and we’ve travelled over 240,000 miles to ensure these deserving animals find their forever homes.
Purrfect Match travels 22 hours each way, each trip.
“It’s a grueling drive, but the reward seeing our rescues get to a place where they can be adopted and loved is an incredible experience. And really, the cats are pretty quiet on the trip, but the van does get a bit stinky! It is also nice to rest a couple of days before driving back, and ensuring all the cats are settled in nicely.” ~ a quote from one of our volunteer drivers.

How we Transport 50 Cats at Once
Over 50 cats are loaded into carriers, and into our transport van. Each cat carrier has a small litter box, food, and water to make our cats as comfortable as possible. Two volunteers leave Memphis early in the morning driving nonstop about 22 hours to New England. Our nonprofit cat adoption partners welcome each cat with love and compassion, getting them quickly out of their carriers into a calming and comfortable environment to relieve stress and fright.
Your support will help save these precious animals from euthanasia, cruelty, or abandonment they would surely experience if they stayed in Tennessee due to the severe cat overpopulation.
