Cat Supplies are Vital to Our Work
Many of the homeless cats and kittens that we rescue in West Tennessee need the kind of care that is best received in a home environment. Purrfect Match currently has ten foster parents who are caring for multiple cats and kittens daily. We supply these families with everything they need to help the cats in their care to flourish.
Deenie’s Story
Deenie and her newborn kittens were left in a box outside Northgate Animal Hospital in Memphis overnight in early spring. Temperatures that night dipped into the 30's and when employees arrived the next morning, they found all of the kittens deceased. What a horrific way to start your day. :( The mother cat Deenie was found wandering the parking lot and she kept coming back to lay on the spot where her kittens had perished. A plea went out on social media seeking rescue for Deenie and when we saw it, there was no decision to be made. We immediately called the vet hospital and soon Deenie was tucked in safe and sound at Purrfect Match's facility, MeowHouse.
After some logistical coordinating, Deenie made the trip to New Hampshire to meet her new family and the adoption was everything we could have hoped for!! She is this family's first cat and they are more than smitten with her, I'd characterize it more as obsession. LOL It is such a rewarding feeling knowing that she is loved to this degree after all she went through!
Once she had recovered in spirit from the trauma she had endured, we found Deenie to be a wonderful, lively, fun cat. We absolutely loved hosting her for several months but during that time she made it clear that she was not a fan of other cats, so knew she would need a home as an only cat. When one of the rescues we work with in New England messaged asking if we had a cat who was outgoing enough to do well in a home with dogs, but would be an only cat and a teenage girl's best friend and confidant, I immediately thought of Deenie.
