‘92 Baylor Alum Finds Her Calling!
Attention Animal Loving Baylor University Bears
Join Baylor Alum Jill T., a ‘92 Baylor University graduate and founder of Purrfect Match Rescue in her quest to save abused, neglected, stray and hurting cats. Purrfect Match provides vet services, medical care, and socialization services to cats in crisis to ready them for adoption.
Baylor Alum Making an Impact
Over 50% of our $250,000 annual budget is used for veterinary expenses.
When Jill graduated in 1992 from Baylor University Hankamer School of Business, she moved to Memphis for work in accounting. Soon after she volunteered at a local cat rescue and fell in love with the idea of saving, healing, and loving cats.
When Jill founded Purrfect Match Cat Rescue as a 501C3 nonprofit in 2003, she went to work to collaborate with several top-notch rescues in the Northeast, to create an organization that has nationwide impact on the lives of cats.
Many of the rescue’s volunteers are also connected to the local navy base NSA-Mid-South. We rely on our Baylor and Navy friends to help us support our mission. Your donation helps support veterinary care for the cats we rehabilitate and get ready for adoption.
The Epidemic of Cat Overpopulation
Early in her career, Jill was struck by the plight of cats at the local animal shelter. Intake was overwhelming, adoptions were slow, and resources scarce. Inspired by successful dog transport programs to New England, Jill imagined a similar solution for cats - and to put an end cat overpopulation in Tennessee, where Purrfect Match Cat Rescue is headquartered.
